Serviceberry shrubs amelanchier spp fragrant white spring flowers and sweet red purple summer berries glow against foliage transitioning from purple to deep green before becoming an autumn blaze of color. A small deciduous tree or shrub serviceberry grows up to 20 feet in height and spreading up to 10 feet wide. Serviceberry this small tree thrives through all four seasons and offers so much to any garden. Like many serviceberries this species provides color interest throughout several seasons.

In spring it bears clusters of white flowers. They can tolerate partial shade so you can plant them in a yard with larger trees or at the edge of a woodland and they ll still get enough light. Abundant white blooms in spring are followed by delicious berries in summer fiery foliage in fall and silver bark in winter. They need moist well drained acidic soil but they tolerate a wide range of soils.

Different species of these casually graceful shrubs grow across u s. During summer the fruit begins to form ultimately becoming bluish black. In the spring the tree is covered with short lived but beautiful white blossoms. In autumn the leaves change to red orange and yellow.
